The 2026 volleyball season has begun! On Tuesday, we traveled to Long County High School for a tri-match against Brantley County and Long County.

We opened with the region match, falling to Brantley County in straight sets, 25-15 and 25-13. We then faced Long County and lost in straight sets, 25-23 and 25-14.

Gracie Petersen, the only returning starter from last year’s team, led the Lady Dogs with nine digs and five kills. Abby White and Natalie Collins led us at the service line with nine service points each, and both recorded one ace apiece.

All of the other players competed at the junior varsity level last year or are brand new to the sport. Tuesday night marked their first experience at the varsity level—and, for some, their first volleyball match.

What we saw Tuesday night reflected what we have been seeing in practice: improvement and growth.

We are 0-1 in region play and 0-2 overall.

Go Dogs!
