It was a mixed bag of results for the Lady Netdawgs at Appling County in Baxley. The JV team emerged victorious in a thrilling three-set match (25-11, 22-25, 15-9), with Alivia Patrick and Emma Wright leading the charge with their impressive serving. Patrick delivered 17 service points, including 14 aces, while Wright contributed 15 service points, 8 aces, and just 3 service errors between them. A commendable effort by the ladies! Additionally, Wright also contributed 5 assists, and Patrick led the team with 4 kills.
On the other hand, the varsity match was intensely competitive but ultimately ended in a loss for the Lady Netdawgs, falling to #9 ranked 2A Appling in five sets (25-16, 18-25, 13-25, 25-13, 5-15). Despite the loss, it was arguably the team’s best all-around performance so far this season. The match was rife with notable performances: six players achieved 6 or more service points, with Scarlett Stanley topping the list with 11, followed by Annabel Crew with 8, Arianna Hill with 7, and Makayla Brewton, Anna Patrick, and Emma Wright each with 6. The same six players also accounted for a total of 17 aces, led by Arianna Hill with six. Additionally, Martasia Burton and Anabel Crew each notched 10 assists, while Anna Patrick and Makayla Brewton led the team with 9 kills apiece.
Despite the varsity loss, the Lady Netdawgs’ record now stands at 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the region. Looking ahead, the team will travel to Southeast Bulloch for two varsity matches on Tuesday. The first match against Liberty will be followed by a contest against host Southeast Bulloch, starting at 6:30 p.m.
