BASS FISHING

The Toombs County High School Bass Fishing team is entering its third of competing in the GHSA Bass Tournament League. This year’s team includes three, two-man teams that will compete in tournaments throughout the state beginning January 21, 2023 at Lake Seminole in Bainbridge, GA. These teams will compete for a chance to qualify for the State Tournament in May at Clarks Hill Lake. To qualify for the state tournament, the teams will have to place in the top 15 at one of the regional tournaments at Lake Seminole, Lake Oconee, West Point Lake, or Lake Hartwell.

This year’s team is led by seniors Neal Braddy and Hunter Hitchcock. These students were the first ever to fish for Toombs County High School and have enjoyed much success along the way. Neal Braddy served as a marshal for the Major League Fishing, where he rode along with professional fisherman to ensure that all rules were followed during in a tournament. He has also received a scholarship for Bass Fishing from the University of Montevallo
in Montevallo, AL. We are looking forward to the season and are expecting great things from the team.
