Lyons, GA. – March 7, 2023 | Coach Derek James
On Monday afternoon, the Toombs County Bulldog Baseball team travelled to Swainsboro for the second game of a home and home series against the Tigers. Both teams were strong on the hill Monday, but Swainsboro was a little bit stronger at the plate in a 1-0 victory over the Bulldogs.
Lucas O’Conner started the game on the mound for Toombs County and recorded 21 outs. The right-hander only allowed five hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out nine. He didn’t give up a single walk during the game, which was a huge positive for the Bulldog starter who pitched a tremendous game.
Gavin Hall ended up taking the loss for Toombs County when he come in and walked 3 and gave up one hit in the bottom of the 8th.
Kipp Mosley led the Bulldogs with two hits in four at bats. Unfortunately, the Dawgs couldn’t get much going at the plate during the game.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday at Claxton with a JV/Varsity doubleheader. Games will start at 4 PM and 6 PM.
