Bulldog Baseball Rallies from Early Deficit to Defeat Fighting Irish 10-3

Lyons, GA. – March 7, 2024 | Coach Derek James

The Toombs County Bulldogs baseball team put on a dominant offensive performance, securing a convincing 10-3 victory over the Dublin Fighting Irish on Wednesday.

Early Deficit, Offensive Outburst:

Dublin struck first in the bottom of the second inning, scoring two runs thanks to a single by Tal Duke and a ground out by Tyrese Robinson. They added another run in the third on another Duke single, extending their lead to 3-1.

However, the Bulldogs answered back in a big way in the top of the fifth. Ryder Sears singled home a run, and then Trayvone Harris launched a three-run homer to center field, putting Toombs County ahead 5-3. The Bulldogs continued to pile on the runs, with Jackson Jenkins adding a two-run homer in the top of the seventh, solidifying their lead at 10-3. Harris led the Bulldogs offensively with three RBIs and a hit. Tucker Braddy and Sears also contributed with two hits each.

Pitching Performance:

Harris got the win for Toombs County, pitching effectively over four and a third innings. He allowed no runs on just two hits while striking out four.

Looking Ahead:

The Bulldogs will look to maintain their momentum as they face Swainsboro in a make up game from earlier in the week on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at noon.
