TOOMBS COUNTY

CHEERLEADING

The Toombs County Cheerleading Program is entering into an exciting 2023 season! We have three teams that make up our Toombs County High School Cheerleading Program, each with very talented and spirited athletes. We are also welcoming two new coaches to our staff this year. We are honored to be able to lead our school and community in cheering on our beloved Bulldogs!

Our Spirit Team, who is led by Coach Grayson Craft and Assistant Coach Marah Braddy will cheer for all home and away football games, plan and execute pep rallies, and have many new ideas to build on school spirit at TCHS and within our community. Our team hosted a Youth Clinic this summer with close to 90 youth attending ranging in ages 4-12. We will have them join us on the field of The Pit before the September 8th home game against Jefferson County to showcase what they learned at the summer clinic. We will be present at the downtown tailgate hosted in downtown Lyons again this year to paint faces and spread our bulldog pride! We plan to host another Community Pep Rally this football season to bring our entire school system and community together to get our Dawgs fired up!

Our Competition Team, who is led by Coach Tilly Christian and Coach Nikki Larsen, is coming back this year to compete in the Co-ed division. The Cheer Dawgs ended the 2022 season by finishing 10th in the state competing in the co-ed division. We have built upon our skills from last season and are bringing a routine to the mats this year that is filled with impressive and elite skills. We will compete in six regular season competitions and head to Sectionals on November 4th. GHSA Competition Cheerleading State for the Co-ed division will be held November 11th at the Macon Coliseum. We hope to see those stands filled with Toombs County Bulldogs!

We are competing in the GHSA Game Day Championships again this year. This is a competition where we will showcase our best crowd-leading material in Band Chant, Crowd Leading, and Fight Song routines. We master the art of using crowd-leading tools such as signs, poms, flags, and megaphones! Last year, our team finished 4th in the state and we are excited to get back out there with a goal to finish even better this year! The Game Day Championship will be held Friday, December 8th. The location of the event is still TBD.
