Dominic Eason Hits 1,000 Career Points as Toombs County Men Cruise to Victory Over Jeff Davis

Saturday witnessed two more commendable performances from the Toombs County JV and Men’s Basketball teams. The JV team, despite trailing by double figures in the first half, rallied in the second half to secure a 37-30 win over Jeff Davis. Leading the scoring for JV were Alex Scott and Ty’Quan Monroe, each contributing 8 points, propelling the team to a promising 2-0 start for the year.

The Varsity men continued the winning momentum with another robust defensive display, completely shutting out Jeff Davis in the first quarter while racking up 22 points. A highlight of the game was a significant milestone achieved by Dominic Eason, who, with a stunning left-handed tomahawk dunk, scored his 1,000th career point—a remarkable accomplishment. Congratulations to Dominic!

Dominic led the Varsity team’s scoring with 16 points, accompanied by 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and a block in three quarters of play. Mike Polke also made a significant impact with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal. Parker Stanley contributed 10 points and 6 rebounds, while Jesus Quintero added 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Coming off the bench, Gavin Fletcher provided valuable output with 8 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Marion James was a force on the boards, securing 11 rebounds.

All teams will be back in action on Tuesday night at Vidalia High School, marking the start of Region play for the year. The JV team will play at 4:15 PM, followed by the girls’ team at 6:00 PM and the Varsity men at 7:30 PM. The second region game of the year is scheduled for Friday at Brantley County, with JV at 4:30 PM, girls at 6:00 PM, and the men at 7:30 PM.
