The Lady Dawgs of Toombs County showcased their prowess in a commanding game against Tattnall County, securing a 10-1 region win on Thursday afternoon.

Right from the outset, the Lady Dawgs set the tone by racking up 5 runs in the top of the first inning. Nora Grace Mercer, Emerson Powell, Casey Cantwell, Shay Stringer, Natalie Quintero, Kassidy Brantley, and Aniston Powell all made significant contributions.

Their momentum continued into the top of the third inning, where they added another 4 runs. This surge saw contributions from Autumn Jarriel, Mercer, E. Powell, Cantwell, and Stringer.

On the offensive front, Cantwell emerged as the star player, boasting a 2-for-3 day at the plate, including a double, a single, and a walk. She also capitalized on an opponent’s error. Demonstrating her versatility, she further shone in the pitcher’s circle, registering 7 strikeouts without allowing a single walk.
