The Toombs County Lady Dog Softball team watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-1 loss to Brantley County on Thursday. Brantley County took the lead on an error in the first inning and the Dogs never recovered.
Brantley County would add three runs in the sixth inning to pretty much seal the win.
Shay Stringer led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Toombs County. The southpaw went seven innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and striking out six.
Aniston Powell, Emerson Powell, and Nora Grace Mercer each collected one hit to lead The Lady Dogs.
