The Toombs County Lady Dog Softball team lost the lead in the 6th inning to fall 3-2 to Pierce County on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Pierce County batting in the bottom of the sixth when Larson doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. The Bulldogs couldn’t answer in the top of the seventh.
Toombs County got on the board in the first inning when Shay Stringer’s sacrifice fly line drive scored one run. In the top of the fifth inning, Toombs County tied things up at two scoring a run on a double steal that worked to perfection
Krista Cantwell toed the rubber for Toombs. The righthander went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out four, and walking zero.
Brinley Miller, Krista Cantwell, and Riley Lumley each managed one hit to lead Toombs. The Lady Dogs were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
