On Tuesday, the Lady Net Dogs traveled to Brantley County for a critical region matchup.
It was a struggle for the JV team due to missing three starters and a couple of players out of position (Elide Cruz and Maritza Zamorano). The Bulldogs did prevail in three sets losing the first set 25-19, but rebounded to take sets two and three, 25-22, and 15-10. The JV Net Dogs move to 4-0 on the year and look to continue that winning streak on Thursday at Bryan County.
Key players for the JV were Arianna Hill (8 service points, 5 aces, and 1 kill), Lasagessa Thomas (8 service points, 3 aces, and 3 kills), Alivia Patrick (7 service points, 3 aces, and 1 kill), Madison Brown (6 service points, 5 aces, and 1 kill), and Estrella Barbosa (4 digs, 2 assists, and several other plays the do not show up in the stat book).
In the varsity match, the Varsity Lady Net Dogs continued to roll winning in straight sets 25-11 and 25-8. Zariaha Newkirk contributed with 9 service points, 5 aces, 2 digs, and 6 kills. Sarah Morris had 11 service points, 5 aces, and 1 kill. Anabel Cruz had 6 service points, 5 aces, and 4 assists. Martasia Burton had 8 assists. Scarlett Stanley, Makenzie Kilgore, and Anna Patrick all had 2 kills each and Patrick also had 2 big blocks.
The Varsity Net Dogs are now 9-2 overall and 5-2 in the region.
