Lady NetDawgs Battle Hard in Tough Matches Against Wayne County

Lyons, GA – August 28, 2024 | Coach Kristin Allen | Article by Coach Terry Goodwin

Both the JV and Varsity Lady NetDawgs made the trip to Jesup, despite being down three players due to injuries and illnesses. The matches were intense, with both Toombs County and Wayne County showing determination and playing hard.

The JV team fought valiantly but lost in straight sets, 25-15 and 25-21. It was a night where no single player stood out because the entire team performed well and showed improvement.

The Varsity squad, despite missing a key starter, had one of their best nights as a team, playing with energy and tenacity across the court. The match was a thrilling five-set battle, with the Lady NetDawgs narrowly losing (18-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-20, 11-15).

Arianna Hill led the team with 7 kills, 2 blocks, 2 aces, and 8 service points. Elida Cruz contributed 10 service points and 3 aces, while Gracie Petersen added 12 service points and 2 aces. Makayla Brewton had 4 service points, 2 blocks, and 2 kills. Madison Brown was also strong, with 8 service points, 3 aces, a block, and a kill. Alivia Patrick rounded out the attack with 5 kills.

The Lady NetDawgs will be back in action on Tuesday at Savannah Country Day. JV plays at 4 PM, followed by Varsity matches at 5 PM and 7 PM. The team’s current record stands at 3-7 overall and 3-2 in regional play.
