Lyons, GA – September 4, 2024 | Coach Kristin Allen | Article by Coach Terry Goodwin

With seven schools in their region, the Lady NetDawgs find themselves traveling to Savannah often. On Tuesday night, they competed in a tri-match at Savannah Country Day (SCD) against the host team and Beaufort High School from South Carolina.

The Lady NetDawgs faced Beaufort first, starting off slowly and dropping the first set 25-15. However, they bounced back in the second set with a 25-21 win, forcing a decisive third set. Unfortunately, they fell short in the final set, losing 15-10. Arianna Hill led the way with 4 service points, 3 aces, 2 blocks, and 5 kills. The team recorded 6 blocks in total, with Hill and Madison Brown each contributing 2, and Alivia Patrick and Makayla Brewton adding one apiece.

In their second match against Savannah Country Day, the Lady NetDawgs struggled in the first set, falling 25-6. The second set was much more competitive, as the team gained momentum, rolling off four consecutive points to get within two of SCD. However, during that streak, Makayla Brewton suffered a knee injury, which halted the team’s rally. Without her, the Lady NetDawgs ultimately lost 25-17, despite a valiant effort.

The Lady NetDawgs now hold a 3-9 overall record and are 3-3 in region play. They will look to bounce back in their next match on Thursday at New Hampstead, with JV playing at 4:00 PM and Varsity at 5:00 PM.
