Lady NetDawgs Continue Winning Ways to Close Our Regular Season

The Lady Netdawgs JV team showcased their dominance by extending their win streak to eight matches after defeating Jenkins HS with set scores of 25-6 and 25-20, rounding off the season with an 8-2 record. The standout performances during the match came from Maggie Rodriguez and Nevaeh Fletcher, both leading from the service line. Rodriguez served up 11 points, including 4 aces, while Fletcher contributed 9 service points, 5 aces, and 3 assists. Alivia Patrick also put in a strong showing with 3 kills.

On the varsity front, Toombs County sealed victories against both Jenkins (set scores of 25-14 and 25-19) and Long County (25-20 and 25-14). The Jenkins match saw remarkable performances by Anabel Cruz and Scarlett Stanley. Cruz had a tally of 12 service points, supplemented by 6 aces and 6 assists, while Stanley contributed 7 service points, 3 aces, an assist, and a dig. Notable mentions also go to Makayla Brewton and Anna Patrick for their impressive kills.

The match against Long County was marked by Cruz’s leadership, boasting 11 service points, 3 aces, 7 assists, and 4 digs. Madison Brown’s service game was also commendable, as all 5 of her service points were aces. Anna Patrick topped the team’s stats with 6 kills.

The Varsity squad ended the season with a 14-7 overall record and 4-3 in area play. The Area Tournament for Toombs will commence next Thursday, with the team waiting to face the victor of the upcoming Tuesday clash between Tattnall and Vidalia. A win would mean a crucial match on Saturday in Savannah.
