The Toombs County Lady NetDawgs continued their season on the road, traveling to face the New Hampstead squad. While the junior varsity team started the night on a high note with a 3-set victory, the varsity squad faced a tougher challenge, ultimately falling in three straight sets.

The JV Lady NetDawgs set the tone early, claiming a 17-25 win in the first set. New Hampstead battled back to take the second set 25-20, but the resilient Toombs County JV team sealed the victory with a decisive 15-10 triumph in the third set. Gracie Petersen was a standout performer, making her presence felt all over the court for the JV squad.

As the varsity match commenced, the Lady NetDawgs struggled to find their rhythm, dropping the opening set 21-25. They regrouped in the second set, but ultimately fell short 25-16. The third set saw Toombs County make a valiant comeback effort, but they ultimately succumbed 25-19, ending the match.

Despite the loss, the Lady NetDawgs showcased their potential throughout the match. Alivia Patrick led the varsity squad with 2 kills, while Maritza Zamorano shone brightly, recording 5 service points, 4 aces, and 3 assists. The front-line duo of Makayla Brewton, Madison Brown, and Arianna Hill each contributed 2 blocks, demonstrating the team’s defensive prowess at the net.

The Lady NetDawgs will be back in action on Tuesday at Vidalia in matches against McIntosh County and Vidalia.
