Cameron Ledford had a career night at the plate, driving in five runs on three hits to lead the Toombs County Bulldog Baseball team to a dominant 15-0 victory over Savannah Country Day on Friday.

Ledford got things started early with a two-run home run to left field in the first inning. He followed it up with a two-run single in the fourth and capped off his night with another RBI single in the fifth.

The Bulldogs broke the game wide open with a massive 10-run fifth inning. Key plays included an RBI walk by Tyson Brantley, a sacrifice fly from Nick Carroll, an RBI single by Joseph Owens, another RBI single by Ledford, a two-run error, an RBI single from Kipp Mosley, and a three-run homer by Brody Benton.

Joseph Owens earned the win on the mound for Toombs County, tossing five shutout innings. He allowed just one hit, struck out three, and walked four.

Offensively, the Bulldogs racked up 13 hits. Ledford and Carroll each collected three hits, while Mosley and Brantley both added multiple hits. Mosley also showed patience at the plate, drawing two walks as part of the team’s seven total free passes.

Toombs County played error-free defense and turned a double play in the victory.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Monday as they host Burke County. First pitch will be 5:45 PM. Be sure to come out and support the DAWGS!
