Toombs County broke the game open in the third, scoring eight runs on seven hits. Morris, Kylah Gay, Taylor Bland, Peyton Bland and White all contributed to the offensive outburst. Bland’s two-run single and Morris’ two-run double highlighted the inning.

The Bulldogs added four runs in the fifth to push the lead to 16-2. Morris’ home run to left field brought home two runs, Williams added an RBI double, and another run scored on a Swainsboro error.

Bland earned the win in the circle, allowing three hits and two runs—one earned—over two innings while striking out one and walking three. Peyton Bland worked three innings in relief, allowing three hits and two unearned runs while striking out five and walking one.

Coach Brant said: “I’m really proud of the way our girls came out tonight. We were aggressive at the plate, we competed from the first pitch, and when we had opportunities, we capitalized on them. Lindy was outstanding, but this was a complete team effort. We got contributions throughout the lineup and our pitchers did a great job of giving us a chance to keep building the lead. That’s the kind of effort and mentality we want to take with us moving forward.”

Morris, Bland, Cyleigh Ennis and White each collected multiple hits. The Bulldogs’ 15-hit attack fueled the victory.

Toombs County now turns its attention to Tuesday’s road game at Brunswick.
