Men’s and Women’s Soccer Teams Sweep Bacon County

The Toombs County varsity soccer teams swept their home opener on Friday night. The girls got the double header off to a strong start with a strong 8–0 bounce back win over Bacon County. Goals were scored by Emma Wright (3), Maritza Zamorano (1G, 2A), Emerson Powell (1G, 1A), Aniston Powell (1G, 1A), and Estrella Barbosa, (1G). Madison Cruz and Laura Zamorano combined for the clean sheet. The girls are now 1-1 on the season.

In the boys match, senior Defender Braylen Dietrich, set a school record, scoring the opening goal in 5 seconds. The bulldogs would waste no time in the first half, notching 4 additional goals before the break, to lead 5–0 at halftime. The bulldogs would add one more goal in the 2nd half, while conceding one, to finish the match off 6-1. Goals were scored by: Yovanny Zamorano (2), Braylen Dietrich (1), Miguel Granados (1G, 2A), Osvaldo Tinoco (1G, 1A), and Angel Morales (1). Kenneth Perez, Alejandro Tinoco and Jose Leon each added an assist.

This moves the dogs record to 2-0. Both teams will be back in action Friday as they get back on the road for region play at Windsor Forest.
