Coach Allen praised the team’s strong start to the season, saying:
“We want to take this season in stride. I’m extremely proud of what we’ve done this offseason and the amount of mat time they’ve been able to get this summer. I’m not trying to place too many expectations on this team too early. I want this team to enjoy the journey and soak in the process, instead of turning the fire up too early and fizzling out at the end. These young men know we have great wrestlers in our room. I want them to continue to make progress each day, each tournament, and each match—the results will come.”
