Lyons, GA. – August 14, 2024 | Coach Hayne Brant

Shay Stringer delivered an outstanding performance on Tuesday, striking out 14 batters and leading the Toombs County Lady Bulldogs to a 1-0 victory over the Savannah Christian Raiders. Stringer was nearly untouchable, allowing just two hits and no runs over seven innings while walking only one batter.

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning, when the Bulldogs finally broke through. Natalie Quintero came up clutch, singling to drive in the game’s only run.

Quintero led the Bulldogs at the plate, going 2-for-3 and driving in the decisive run. The Bulldogs’ defense was flawless, with no errors committed, with many Lady Dawgs coming up with big plays defensively for the Dawgs.

This gives the Lady Bulldogs their first region victory on the young season. Next up, the Toombs County Bulldogs will face the Swainsboro Lady Tigers on Thursday in another region matchup at Swainsboro. Game time is slotted for 6 PM.
