Lyons, GA. – August 18, 2024 | Coach Hayne Brant

Shay Stringer delivered a masterful performance on Saturday, striking out 15 batters and leading the Toombs County Lady Dawgs to a dominant 4-0 victory over Jeff Davis. Stringer was untouchable in the circle, allowing zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, while not issuing a single walk.

The Bulldogs broke the scoreless tie in the third inning when Aniston Powell singled to drive in the game’s first run. In the bottom of the fourth, Cyleigh Ennis extended the lead with a two-run homer to center field, putting the Bulldogs firmly in control.

Ennis led the offensive charge, going 2-for-2 at the plate and driving in two runs. Powell also contributed with two hits, helping to keep the Bulldogs’ offense moving.

With this victory, the Lady Dawgs continue their strong start to the season. They will look to build on this win as they travel to Wheeler County for a non-region match up on Monday. JV will play at 4 PM and Varsity will play at 6 PM.
