Lyons, GA. – May 23, 2023 | Buddy Martin, Athletic Director and Head Football Coach

The Toombs County Athletic Department gathered together this past Monday for their Inaugural Coaches Appreciation Luncheon hosted by Brad Lane and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Toombs County High coaching staff members from each department met at Elements in Downtown Lyons and enjoyed a fantastic meal catered by Memory Lane Catering and an encouraging word spoken by Steven Toole.

Four members of the Toombs County High Athletics Department were honored for their years of service to Toombs County High School Athletics and enriching the lives of student-athletes.

Leslie McClendon (20 years): Auxiliary Instructor 2002-Present

Tom Brodnax (20 years): Assistant Baseball Coach 2001-2004, Head Tennis Coach 2005-2014, Head Volleyball Coach 2002-2014 & 2016-Present

Noah Bullard (13 years): Band Director 2011-Present

Melody Walker (12 years): Head Girls Basketball Coach 2012-Present, Head Cross Country Coach 2014-2015, Assistant Boys Basketball Coach 2017-2018

Today we gather to celebrate our Coaches and to tell them how thankful we are for each one of them. Coaches have a great opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of many student-athletes each day and we were encouraged today to be sure we are taking advantage of those opportunities. We are thankful for the opportunity to celebrate the decades of service that Leslie, Tom, Noah, and Melody have put into this community. They set the bar high and serve as great examples for the rest of us. Brad Lane, Steven Toole and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes are a blessing not only to me personally, but to each of our coaches, and to our student-athletes. Today is just another example of how great it is to Be A DOG!
