The 2022-2023 basketball season is here and we couldn’t be more excited to get going this year. After a great summer, the long-anticipated season is getting ready to start next week. The core of our team has returned from last year when we were able to make a run in the region tournament and make an appearance in the state playoffs for the second straight season.
This team will have four seniors this year: Cam Faison, Tamarien McArthur, Omarion McRae, and Braylan McMillian. Juniors on this year’s team are Dominic Eason, Jesus Quintero, Marion James, and Demetrius Cutler. Sophomores will be Mike Polke, DJ Griffin, and Maurice Oglesby. Gavin Fletcher will be the only freshman on the roster this year.
Since back in the summer this group has worked very hard and grown together as a group. The preseason workouts and practices leading up to our first game have prepared these guys for what is hoping to be another successful season. We are blessed to have size, length, and athleticism which we think will create some exciting basketball for our community to come out and watch this year. Our guys have continued to improve their individual skills and we believe these guys are ready to show how hard they have been working this year. Dominic Eason will be returning this year for his junior year coming off of a 1st Team All-Region recognition from last season. Cam Faison, Jesus Quintero, Mike Polke, DJ Griffin, Marion James, Demetrius Cutler, Omarion McRae, and Braylan McMillian have worked hard and will look for increased roles for this season.
Our region has some great teams in it this year and our guys are ready for the opportunity to compete against such quality opponents. We couldn’t be any prouder for the way these guys have worked and prepared for this season, and we hope that everyone will come out and support these guys and continue to cheer these guys on all year.
