The Toombs County Bulldogs battled hard but came up short against a tough Coffee Trojans squad, falling 10-4 on Wednesday night.

Coffee struck early, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning with a series of timely hits and in the bottom of the third, a two-run double pushed the Coffee lead to 8-2.

The Bulldogs managed to break through offensively, with Jackson Jenkins driving in a run while collecting one of the Bulldogs’ six hits. Brody Benton, Ryder Sears, Kipp Mosley, Joseph Owens, and Nick Carroll also contributed hits, but the Bulldogs struggled to string them together for a comeback.

On the mound, Jenkins took the loss, pitching two innings and allowing six runs on five hits with one strikeout and four walks.

The Bulldogs showed flashes of strong defense, turning a double play during the game.
