The Toombs County Bulldogs secured the Region Championship on Thursday with a hard-fought 4-3 comeback win over rival Vidalia.

Vidalia struck first with a run in the bottom of the second, then added two more in the third to take a 3-2 lead. Toombs tied the game earlier in the third, capitalizing on a Vidalia error.

Trailing 3-2 in the top of the fifth inning, the Bulldogs rallied when a passed ball brought home two runs and gave Toombs the lead for good.

Jackson Jenkins earned the win on the mound for the Bulldogs, pitching six innings and allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out one. Nick Carroll came on in relief and shut the door in the seventh, striking out two and allowing no runs in one inning of work.

Carroll also led the Dawgs at the plate, going 2-for-3 from the leadoff spot. He and Owens each stole multiple bases as the Bulldogs swiped four on the night.

Toombs has now tied the series at 1-1, with the final game of the series (Senior Night) set for Friday, April 18, 2025 at home at 5:45 PM.

Congratulations to the Bulldogs on clinching the Region Championship!
