———-
Despite an early lead, the Toombs County Bulldogs couldn’t hold on and fell 12-6 to Washington County on Thursday.
Strong Start for the Bulldogs
Toombs County wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the first inning, capitalizing on:
- Jackson Jenkins getting hit by a pitch to bring in a run
- Kipp Mosley drawing an RBI walk
- Slade McDonald driving in a run on a groundout
- Brody Benton adding a sacrifice fly
The Bulldogs held the lead through the early innings but struggled defensively in the fourth, allowing Washington County to regain control.
Key Performances
- Nick Carroll led the Bulldogs at the plate, going 2-for-3 from the leadoff spot.
- Benton, Mosley, McDonald, Jenkins, and Carroll each drove in one run.
