The Toombs County Bulldog football team, fresh off an impressive 11-2 season marked by record-breaking performances, kicked off the 2024 campaign with a dominant showing in their annual spring game. Hosting the formidable Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane team, the Bulldogs gave their home crowd plenty to cheer about in the PIT.

The young Bulldogs took the field in the first quarter, displaying potential and resilience. However, it was in the second quarter when the varsity squads took over, turning the game into a thrilling spectacle.

The Bulldogs’ defense, known as the Red Bullet Defense, was in top form, stifling the Hurricanes’ offense throughout the evening. Upcoming senior quarterback TJ Stanley looked like he was in mid-season form, delivering three touchdown passes with precision. Running back Dabyn Wadley showcased his strength, repeatedly breaking through the Fitzgerald defensive line with powerful runs.

The Bulldogs wrapped up the game with a commanding 26-0 victory, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the start of the regular season. The 2024 season promises to be one of the most challenging in the program’s history, with the Bulldogs set to kick off their campaign at home on Friday, August 23, at 8 PM against Dougherty High School.

This spring game performance sets a high bar for what’s to come, and the Toombs County community is ready for another exciting season of Bulldog football.
