Casey Cantwell delivered a stellar performance on the mound, recording 12 strikeouts as the Toombs County Lady Dawgs triumphed over East Laurens with a 7-0 victory on Monday. Throughout the seven innings, Cantwell only allowed four hits and kept East Laurens scoreless while issuing just two walks.

The Lady Dawgs initiated their scoring in the second inning when Natalie Quintero hit a crucial double, bringing in the first run of the game.

Both Kassidy Brantley and Quintero, along with Nora Grace Mercer, Aniston Powell, Emerson Powell, and Cantwell, each secured a hit for the Toombs County Lady Dawgs Softball team. Cantwell notably stood out in the middle of the lineup, contributing two runs batted in with a hit on day. Quintero demonstrated patience, leading Toombs County with two walks.

In total, the team showcased restraint at the plate, garnering five walks on the afternoon. Defensively, the Lady Dawgs were flawless, with no errors committed.

The Lady Dawgs are back in action on Tuesday as both the JV and Varsity teams travel to Brantley County for an important region game. Currently, the Lady Dawgs are 6-4 overall and 2-1 in region play.
