The Toombs County MatDawgs begin their journey to the Macon Coliseum as they roll through the competition enroute to an Area Championship in Dublin this past weekend. The MatDawgs put up an impressive 287 points at the Traditional Area Tournament with 9 of the 14 weights classes being won by a Toombs County MatDawg. The highlight of the finals matchups was at the 138 pound class as Robert Bruce Agzigian faced off against an opponent from Dublin that had previously bested Agzigian. A much different matchup this weekend as Agzigian hit a mid-match back flip to allude a takedown and win the Area Championship finals match.
The Area Champions for the MatDawgs were: Jahir Lopez, Walker Bunch, Wyatt Bunch, Dylan Vetter, Robert Bruce Agzigian, Tyson Brantley, Dabvn Wadley, Slade Landrum, and Lucas Coley. In addition, the MatDawgs push these Area Champions along with four other top four finishers to the sectional tournament.
The MatDawgs head to Social Circle this weekend to wrestle in the Traditional Sectional tournament where the top six finishers move into the Traditional State Tournament at the Macon Coliseum.
