Toombs County Men’s Golf Team Finishes 9th at State Tournament

The Toombs County Bulldog Men’s Golf Team delivered an impressive performance at the GHSA AA State Golf Tournament, held at the picturesque Chimney Oaks in Homer, Georgia. Hosted by Athens Academy, the tournament showcased some of the finest young golf talent in the state from class AA.

Day 1 Highlights

On Monday, the Bulldogs shot a solid 341, with standout contributions from Vick Moore, who carded a 78, and Drew Woodruff, who posted an 85. Aidan Barton and Noah Anken added scores of 87 and 91, respectively. The team’s efforts on the challenging course set a strong foundation for the competition.

Day 2 Breakthrough

Tuesday saw the Bulldogs achieve their season-low score of 326, demonstrating remarkable improvement and determination. Drew Woodruff led the way with a 79, closely followed by Clay Conner, who shot an 80. Vick Moore continued his consistent performance with an 82, while Noah Anken rounded out the day with an 85.

Overall Achievement

The Bulldogs’ combined score of 667 earned them a 9th place finish overall in the state. This achievement marks the best finish for Toombs County in many years, reflecting the team’s dedication, skill, and hard work throughout the season.
