Maritza shoots for a goal versus Vidalia

Toombs County Soccer Sweeps Vidalia 2-0 and 7-0.

Lyons, GA. – March 6, 2024 | Coach Jeremy Moore

On Friday night, out Toombs County soccer teams swept Vidalia. The girls started off strong, scoring 2 goals in 8 minutes. That would prove to be enough, as the defense would limit the offensive opportunities for Vidalia and hold them scoreless the entire night. Goals were scored by Mishi Smith and Emerson Powell.

In the boys match, it took the bulldogs about 15 minutes to score, but once they scored, they would deliver their best offensive performance of the season, out-pacing the Indians, 7-0 on the night. Yovanny Zamorano led the offensive charge with 4 goals, while Jose Leon, Axcel Barbosa and Braylen Dietrich each notched 1 goal. Goalkeeper Tucker Brodnax recorded another clean sheet.

Both teams will be back in action Tuesday night as they host the Appling County Pirates for another region matchup.
